Legislative Item 104: Affirming Our Health & Welfare Ministry Agencies Subject: Health & Welfare Submitted by: The IGRC Health & Welfare Committee Estimated Financial Impact: None WHEREAS, The Illinois Great Rivers Conference has a long history of relationships with organizations and agencies that provide health and welfare ministries to our communities. Some agencies have been established and sustained by the Illinois Great Rivers Conference and still use the name “United Methodist” or have a special rela- tionship with The Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church or The United Methodist Women/United Women of Faith of The Illinois Great Rivers Conference. THEREFORE, pursuant to the requirements of the Book of Discipline (¶ 2517), the Illinois Great Rivers Conference designates its IGRC Board of Global Ministries as the body responsible for establishing and maintaining covenant documents and relationships with health and welfare agencies. As required by the Book of Discipline, these covenant documents shall be reviewed and renewed every four years in consultation with the Conference Chancellor and the Conference Board of Trustees. As independent institutions, the Illinois Great Rivers Conference shall not be legally responsible for the debts, contracts, or obligations, or for any other financial commitments of any character or description created, undertaken, or assumed by these institutions. THEREFORE, the Illinois Great Rivers Conference affirms its covenant relationship with and celebrates the ministries of these agencies: - Chaddock Attachment and Trauma Services, Quincy Illinois - Spero Family Services, Mt. Vernon Illinois - United Methodist Village Retirement Communities, Godfrey Illinois - The Baby Fold, Normal Illinois - Sunset Senior Living, Quincy Illinois - Evenglow Senior Living, Pontiac Illinois ADDITIONALLY, although not requiring a covenant relationship, The Illinois Great Rivers Conference also celebrates these ministries of the United Methodist Women/ United Women of Faith: - Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House, East St. Louis Illinois - Cunningham Children’s Home, Urbana Illinois Legislative Item 105: Congregational Redevelopment For Sandoval UMC Subject : Funding Congregational Redevelopment For Sandoval UMC Submitted by : Sandoval UMC; Congregational Development
