Jennie Evans Wise 1933-2025 Jennie Evans Wise, 91, widow of the Rev. Donald Earl Wise, died May 2, 2025. Born Nov. 3, 1933, a daughter of Donald and Lucille “Doll” Evans Pistorius. She married Donald Earl Wise Dec. 28, 1954. He died March 3, 2018.
Together with her husband, the Wises served the following pastorates: Zion Chapel (Boody), Arcola, Farmington, Springfield: First (Associate), Farmer City, Aledo, from where they retired from active ministry in 1989. She is survived by: her children, Deborah J. Sosamon of Arcola and Fletcher E. Wise (Deborah Weldon) of Fishers, Ind.; and her brother Donald Pistorius (Judy) of Mt. Zion; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister, Ramona Miller. Funeral services for Jennie Evans Wise were held May 24, 2025, at Calvert & Wikoff North Chapel in Decatur.
