Williamsville, Marshall, Clinton-Birbeck-Prairie Center, and Morton, from where he retired in 1992. His ministry also included four years as a Director of the Conference Council on Ministries and six years as Galesburg District Superintendent. He also served interim appointments in retirement, including Interim Director of Camping Ministries for the Illinois Great Rivers Conference and at Collinsville. Among his distinctions while serving as a full-time clergy was being elected to serve as a delegate to the General and Jurisdictional conferences of The United Methodist Church multiple times. Having been raised in rural Cisco, he loved working on the farm and did so when he could throughout his life and also became an accomplished woodworker and prolific gardener. He was known for his humility, sense of humor, looking for the good in all with whom he came in contact, and a deep compassion for his fellow man. Burt’s deepest joy was his family and enjoyed many years camping and fishing with them on family vacations. Later in life he treasured spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving him are five children, Jennifer McIntosh, Normal, the Rev. John (Patty) McIntosh, Mahomet, Jane (Keith) Kleid, Coppell, Texas, Jeff (Ellen) McIntosh, Stratham, N.H., Joseph (Jerry Gemmecke) McIntosh, Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Sarah Jane (Noah) Chapman, Robert and Adam Kleid and Molly (Tommy) Bassett; three great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Rev. McIntosh is preceded in death by parents, three sisters, Frances Glaser, Marilyn McMullen and Shara Lee; one niece, Sandy Knapp; and one nephew, Stanley McMullen. A memorial service celebrating the life of the Rev. Burt A. McIntosh was held Jan. 13, 2025 at Bloomington Wesley UMC with the Revs. Sara Isbell and John McIntosh officiat- ing. Private family inurnment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton.

Judith Ann “Judy” Miller 1942-2024 Judith “Judy” Ann Miller, 82, a retired local pastor, died Nov. 6, 2024 at Alton Memorial Rehab and Therapy in Alton. She was born Oct. 13, 1942, in Osceola, Iowa, a daughter of Alfred “Pete” and Edna (Page) Sanders. Judy married Ronald L. Miller Dec. 8, 1961. He died in 1992. Judy served many in her life. She was a girl scout leader and a cub

scout leader. She also served on many committees at Bethalto UMC. Her greatest thrill was her youth club years at the church. Judy was instrumental in opening the Bethalto Community Day Care at the church. She taught Sunday school for 3rd through 12th graders and was a sponsor of UMYF. She was the first woman to serve as chairman of the Trustees. Judy also served nine years as a chaplain for Alton Memorial Hospital. Then, she answered her call to become a pastor, serving her home church at Granite City: Dewey Avenue and Bethalto in her six years of service to the Illinois Great Rivers Conference. She also served as a chaplain at the United Methodist Village for 10 years and was Conference Director of Lay Speaking. Survivors include three daughters, Cindy (Ervin) Hash, Cheryl Scherff and her significant other Wayne Darr and Jodie (Jay) Chester; and her son, Ron “RC” (Meg) Miller. She loved and cherished her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Mary V. Welch.
